Root Verizon VS990 Verizon LG V10

LG V10 a dual screen phablet was launched by LG in October 2015. The primary QHD resolution display of V10 is of 5.7″ and the secondary display is of 2.1″ with a resolution of (160 x 1040). V10 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor of speed 1.82GHz hexacore with 4GB of RAM. The internal storage of V10 is 64GB which can be extended up to 128GB by using the microSD card slot. Its rear 16MP camera sensor is equipped with optical image stabilization, laser autofocus, and 4k video recording while the front camera has 5MP duo setup. Its battery size is 3000mAh.

If we look at the OS side of Lg V10, Android Lollipop 5.1.1 is injected by default by Lg with some customization to add lots of new and useful features. But the new customized interface of LG is not very much popular among users. Moreover, as usual there are so many bloatware included by LG and your carrier.

Prerequisites:

How To Root Verizon VS990 | Verizon LG V10

Step 1. First of all download VS990 Root.zip file from the prerequisites section above and then extract it using any unzipping tool.

Step 2. After extracting the zip file, install the Lg drivers which is extracted from the zip file.

Step 3. Next, extract the .rar extension file with any available unzipping tool. You will get a .tot extension file out of .rar which is the main file required in rooting your Lg V10.

Step 4. In this step we will install the LGUP, it is a software that used to install firmware on Lg V10. Now extract the lgupnew.zip. You will get two files LGUP_8994_DLL_Ver_0_0_1_18.msi and LGUP_Store_Frame_Ver_1_14_3.msi.

Step 5. Execute them one by one according to the sequence. First run LGUP_Store_Frame_Ver_1_14_3.msi and then run LGUP_8994_DLL_Ver_0_0_1_18.msi. LGUP is now installed on your PC.

Step 6. Now find the “common” folder that should be located at the same place where you have extracted the zip file in step 1 and transfer it to this folder “C:\Program File\(x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model”. (This is the default location of LGUP software which you have installed in above step)

Step 7. In above steps we have set up your PC now its time to prepare your Lg V10 for rooting. Enable the Developer Options form Settings >> About Phone and then tap on Build Number multiple times. Once you receive a toast message “You are now a Developer!” it means you have successfully enabled the Developer Options in your Lg V10.

Step 8. Open the Developer Options and then enable the USB Debugging. Now connect your device to your PC by using a USB cable.

Step 9. Now lunch the LGUP software on your PC.

Step 10. Select your device and then select the UPGRADE option. Select the “rootedsystemvs.tot” file in the “BIN File” option and then click on the Start button.

Step 11. Now reboot your device and update the SuperSU app and then reboot your device once again.

Your Verizon Lg V10 is now successfully rooted! Congrats!
