Backup Data

Root Process

1. Download Samsung Odin tool from the link given above on you PC.

2. Launch Odin.exe on PC.

3. Download the custom boot image files for your device from the link given above.

4. Switch off the device.

5. Boot the device into Download Mode.

6. Press and hold Volume-Down + Home + Power keys altogether for few seconds. You will see a warning message on your mobile screen, simply press the Volume-Up key to continue boot into Download Mode.

7. Use the stock USB cable to connect your device to PC.

8. You should see a Added message in the Odin log and a blue button sign on Odin window.

9. Click on AP button in Odin, browse and select the custom boot image file with .tar extension.

10. Click on Start button and wait for few mins.

11. Once the process finishes your device will reboot automatically.

12. Now enable the Developer Options of your device.

13. Go to phone Settings >> About Phone and tap Build Number 7 times. This will enable the Developer Options.

14. Go to Developer Options and enable the USB Debugging.

15. Launch Minimal ADB and Fastboot window on your PC

16. Download SuperSU zip file from the link given above and extract it into the folder named ‘super’.

17. Transfer this folder to Minimal ADB and Fasboot folder.

18. To flash SuperSU on your device, enter the following on command prompt window:

  • cd super
  • root.bat

19. Wait for few mins and then reboot to system.

20. The first boot will take longer than usual, so be patient.

21. When your device boots-up, open phone Settings >> tap on Applications >> Find and tap on SuperSU >> In App info remove check from ‘Show notifications’.

The last step is to make sure you won’t get future notifications from SuperSU like Play Store updates etc. Because SuperSU update will break things for your device.
