Well here is a good news for those Galaxy lovers, XDA developers senior member Albe95 successfully ported the Galaxy S7 apps for Galaxy S6 and Note 5 variants. The port is not bundled with complete Samsung Galaxy S7 package but you will get most common apps to play with. However, if you wish to try these apps on your Galaxy S6 or Note 5 then your device must be running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update. The Galaxy S7’s fabled Always ON Display is not included in this package because its not available right now. To make it work on Galaxy S6 or Note 5, some kernel tweaks is required because its bit complex. How to Install Galaxy S7 Apps on Galaxy S6 and Note 5
Some S7 Apps are available for ready to install but some apps are encapsulated in a flashable Zip file, so follow the instructions below to install them on your device.
Step 1. Go to the S7 Apps Packages section above, download and transfer your desired apps to your device’s storage.
Step 2. Now boot your Galaxy smartphone into recovery mode.
- Switch off your device power and wait for few seconds.
- Press and hold these keys together (Power + Home + Volume Up), release them when you see the Galaxy logo.
Step 3. In TWRP main menu, select the Install option then select the zip file.
Step 4. Swipe where appropriate to confirm the flash.
Follow the same steps to flash all the apps you want to install on your device.
Step 5. Once the Zip is flashed, go back to main menu and select reboot to boot your device normally.
Note: If your system doesn’t have TWRP, extract the zip file and move the APK in /system/priv-app/ with appropriate permissions (rw-r-r), then reboot to system. If your system has stock ROM, remove the arm folder.
